12” ‘PIZZA’ BIKE

Custom-built 12” BMX. A special little bike, for a special little lad.

I was challenged with building a bespoke BMX for Billy Bing, a talented three-year old rider who is obsessed with all types of bikes and loves tearing up the streets and skateparks.

12” BMX frames already exist on the market, but they didn’t fit Billy well; the bottom brackets tended to push the cranks out too wide for his legs. Plus, making a custom kids’ BMX just seemed like a cool thing to do.

What resulted was a scaled-down version of the Deathpack Silent Victory frame with measurements to suit Billy and his style of riding. His great-granddad’s vintage Reynolds tubing Claud Butler was the perfect donor bike for a lightweight steel BMX frame, and added a special touch to a bike for a member of the next generation of riders.

Introducing the Deathpack 12” ‘Pizza’ bike, one of a kind.

Endless thanks to Billy’s Dad, Tom Bing and Mum, Sally McGee of Yonder for the challenge, and for always supporting me.
